Our Story
For more than three decades, Martin Ayanegui has dedicated himself to his business, motivated by his clients, inspired by his projects, and encouraged by family and friends to continue expanding and growing.

As Home Office Houston marks over 35 years of excellence, Ayanegui reflects on what has made his company successful. From his early days in college at the University of Houston volunteering at local museums to resolve lighting issues for galleries and displays, he has transformed his small company into a powerhouse enterprise offering:
- Interior design for homes and businesses
- Exterior and interior lighting design
- Construction and remodeling (large and small)
- Facility management, maintenance, and event planning
- Christmas tree rentals and decorations services

His award-winning work and dedication have earned national attention. Many clients, some of whom have worked with him since the beginning, continue to refer his services. His expertise has also been featured on national television, including CNBC’s Billion Dollar Buyer with Tilman Fertitta, TLC’s The Little People, NBC Universal’s Steve Harvey Show, A&E, HGTV, and local affiliates.
With degrees in architecture and environmental design, Ayanegui expanded into lighting design, which becomes a major focus for his staff during the winter holiday season. He creatively decorates homes, businesses, and local theaters, including the Alley Theatre, the new A.D. Players Theatre, and the Houston Astros Stadium.

“Part of our success is that I meet with clients personally and oversee projects from start to finish,” says Ayanegui. By coordinating with interior designers and licensed professionals—electricians, plumbers, carpenters, artisans, painters, and stonecutters— we provide full-service solutions from design to completion.

He emphasizes teamwork with clients:
“I can take their ideas and help make them a reality. Sometimes they can’t explain exactly what they want, but I can assist them and get it done. I like for my clients to become my friends even after the job is done.”ā
Giving back to the community is a core part of Ayanegui’s mission. He has been actively supporting The Sunshine Kids, a nonprofit that assists children with cancer and their families. Introduced to the organization by longtime client Craig Biggio and his wife Patty, Ayanegui continues to sponsor the charity even after Biggio’s child recovered.
“We will continue expanding our business, supporting our causes, and putting heart and soul into our work,” he says. “I learned from my father, who passed away when I was 13, that hard work and dedication lead to success.”
